Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Baptism: Showing Your Faith Out Loud

At Del Aire Baptist Church, we believe baptism is a powerful way to show the world what God has done in your heart. It’s an outward sign of an inward change!

So, what does baptism really mean?

It Declares Your Faith in Jesus

When you get baptized, you’re telling everyone, “I believe in Jesus Christ!” Just like the Bible says in Acts 8:36-37, if you believe with all your heart, you can be baptized. Baptism publicly says, “I believe, and I’m ready to show it!”

It Symbolizes Your Old Life Dying

Baptism is like saying goodbye to your old way of living. Romans 6:1-3 tells us that when we’re baptized into Christ, it’s like we’re dying to our old sinful ways. It’s saying, “I’ve turned away from sin, and I’m ready to prove it!”

It Announces Your New Life in Christ

When you come up out of the water, it’s a picture of starting fresh, a brand-new life in Jesus! Just as Christ was raised from the dead, Romans 6:4 says we too can live new lives. Baptism declares, “I’m a new person, and I’m ready to live it!”

It Celebrates Being Part of God’s Family

Baptism also shows that you’re now part of God’s big family. 1 Corinthians 12:13 tells us that through one Spirit, we are all baptized into one body. It’s saying, “I belong, and I’m ready to show it!”

What We Believe About Baptism

Jesus told all His followers to be baptized by being fully immersed in water. At Del Aire Baptist Church, we baptize believers – people who have chosen to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We don’t believe baptism saves you, but rather it’s a public and important way to show your faith in Jesus. It’s an act of obedience that symbolizes Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection.

Why Is Being Baptized Important?

As followers of Jesus, it’s important to obey His commands. Jesus commanded His followers to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This public step clearly shows everyone that you are committed to living for Jesus.

What’s the Baptism Process Like?

If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to be baptized, you can make that decision known at the end of our Sunday morning worship service during the invitation time. You can also talk to one of our pastors to discuss your decision. We will then work with our pastoral team to schedule your baptism.
